I’m Carol Bailey, and live in a small
village in Northwest Ohio
called Pemberville. You may know me from my “other life” as
Orpha Hoffenheimer, of the famous Hoffenheimer Sisters Duo!!
I’ve been married now for over 25
years to John and we have four children. Our oldest sons
are twins, Aaron and James, who are 21 years old and soon to
be Seniors at Bowling Green State University. The next is
Brenna, who is 19 and then there's my baby, Allison,
who is nearly 13. The whole family is very musical, which is a
tremendous blessing.
I
love to sing and entertain. Always have. I began to
study voice at twelve years of age and continued until almost
twenty. I have had the privilege of many leading roles
in several musicals and theatrical productions in the past.
While I enjoy watching, I find that I am not as interested in
being in theater productions as I once was due to time (and
memory) constraints.
Besides working, more of that in the
next paragraph, and performing as a Hoffenheimer Sister, I
keep very busy with church and the restoration of my large
1895 Victorian home. I desire to make it “tastefully gaudy”,
if there is such a thing! Just like me!! I love decorating for
Christmas and put up between 15 and 18 Christmas trees each
year to show off my collection of over 1500 European
mouth-blown Christmas ornaments. You know the type, the
pretty, gaudy, glittery ones. I have recently taken up a hobby
of making Victorian lampshades. While I started making them so
that I could have them for my own home, I sell them at a local
antique shop. I have yet to produce one just for me.
My
husband and I have owned and operated our own business, The
Piano Works for 24 years. We tune, rebuild, refinish and do
complete “from the ground up” restoration of pianos.
John and I specialize in vintage instruments, bringing life
and beauty back into what most would consider a hopeless case.
We service many schools, churches and several hundred private
customers. We have restored instruments from as far away
as New York, South Carolina and even Arizona! We also sell new
Charles R. Walter as well as our own restored pianos. Please
visit us on the web at www.thepianoworks.org!

I
know many of you have often asked “sister” and me about our
“real” lives, so there you have it. I think that Debby and I
are almost as interesting out of character as
in!
Thank you for your interest and
continued support of The Hoffenheimer
Sisters!
